Join us on a full day adventure that combines WWII history at Pearl Harbor and the unique music, dance, and people of Pacific island nations celebrated at Polynesian Cultural Center.
The tour starts with a visit to the USS Arizona Memorial, which honors the 1,177 seamen who perished when their ship was bombed and sank during the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. First, you’ll watch a 23-minute documentary with archival footage from the attack and then board a Navy vessel for a short ride out to the USS Arizona Memorial, the renowned white structure suspended over the remains of the sunken ship. Step into the Shrine Room where the names of those lost heroes are etched in marble. Look down in the water where oil droplets—“Black Tears”—from the sunken hull still rise to the harbor surface after almost 80 years. Visit the museum at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, where The Road to War and Attack galleries bring the attack to life through dramatic photography, memorabilia, and artifacts.
Next, we head to the beautiful North Shore, home to the spectacular Polynesian Cultural Center, where you’ll experience the magic, music, dance, and way of life on six Pacific Island nations including Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and New Zealand. Discover a diverse and fascinating world of Polynesian traditions as you visit authentically recreated villages, meet people from across the Pacific, and listen to their stories and songs. Hop into a canoe and let the guide paddle you through the lagoon pass different villages. Learn Samoan cooking or Tahitian spear throwing. Enjoy the Polynesian Canoe Pageant, an energetic showcase of music and dance performed atop double-hulled canoes. You’ll even relax with a delicious barbecue lunch.
